By default, YDES-04 gateways come configured for Port engine instances. To change this, we need to apply a new configuration that changes the configuration of the starboard gateway to transmit as engine ID 1. The YDES.TXT file attached to this article includes that setting. So, download the file and save it to your computer. When you save it, make sure the file is named YDES.TXT. Note, it is possible that Windows computers will hide the .TXT ending of the file name. As long as the file has a notepad icon, it is still correctly named. Alternatively, you can right click on the downloaded file and press properties. The filename shown will reflect the actual file name.
Once you have downloaded the file and verified it is properly named, copy the file to a MicroSD card that is 32gb or smaller. Once the file is copied, eject the card from the computer and insert it into the YDES-04 with the NMEA 2000 network powered. When you insert the card, you should see three green blinks if the configuration is changed and store succesfully. If the gateway was already configured for starboard, you may see one green blink followed by two red blinks. That simply indicates there is no configuration change to be made.
If instead you see three red blinks, that indicates the gateway didn't find a valid config on the card. If you see three red blinks, please verify the file is named YDES.TXT, the file is in the root (top folder) of the MicroSD card, and the card is 32 gigabytes or smaller.
