Yanmar 4JH common rail engines - what's needed

If you have a Yanmar common rail engine including 3JH40, 4JH45, 4JH57, 4JH80, and 4JH110 a YDEG-04 and one of two Yanmar wiring adapters will provide engine instrumentation to your NMEA 2000 network.

There are two wiring adapter options:
  • The 4JH Wiring adapter connects to your engine's diagnostic connector. This connection is located on the side of your engine and hence will require extending your NMEA 2000 network to the engine compartment.
  • The B25/C35 Wiring adapter connects to a Yanmar B25 or C35 control panel. Typically this panel is located at a helm or in the cockpit. If your NMEA 2000 network is already adjacent to a B25 or C35 panel, this may be an easier connection.
In either case, the available data will be the same. The only difference between the two adapters is the location at which you make the connection.

YDEG-04s are available in two varieties, the first is a YDEG-04N with a DeviceNet connector NMEA 2000. The second is the YDEG-04R with a Raymarine SeaTalk NG connector for Raymarine SeaTalk NG networks.
